Five for Friday {Feb 22nd}

1.  I joined a gym earlier this month and am loving working out on the rowing machine.  I had only tried it once or twice before but it is such a great form of cross training.  It works your arms and legs and is so much fun!  I have been adding it into my cross training days.

2.  I know I'm late, but over the past few weeks I have been watching Downton Abbey and absolutely love it!  It is so smart and complex and pretty.  I have been watching it slowly because the seasons are so short.  I am trying to savor it as long as possible.   I am almost finished with season two right now.  

3.  I made a pretty tasty breakfast last week that I thought I'd share.  I posted a picture on Instagram, but here is the "recipe."  

Organic Apple - (I used a pink lady apple)
Peanut Butter
Frozen waffles (I used the multigrain Trader Joe's ones, but the Kashi or Nutrigrain ones are great too.)
Ground Cinnamon
Syrup (I used the Trader Joe's Short Stack Pancake Syrup)

While toasting the waffles I sliced the apple into thin pieces.  After the waffles were toasted I smeared peanut butter on each piece and then arranged the sliced apples on top.  To top everything off I sprinkled some cinnamon on top and put just a drizzle of syrup across.  
This breakfast was super tasty and easy to make.  It has a little bit of everything in it and it kept me full until a late lunch later that day.  
I was going to eat it with a fork and knife, but it was easier to just pick it up and eat with my hands.

4.  My lovely sister, Caroline, and her boyfriend came to visit for a day this past weekend.  It was short visit, but it was great to see them.

She is a vegetarian and he is a vegan so I took them to Native Foods Cafe and the Chicago Diner.  The meals at Native Foods were huge, but delicious.  I ordered the Ensalada Azteca Salad which was full of veggies and quinoa.  The salad was really tasty and quite filling.    
The next day we went for brunch at the Chicago Diner, which we had all been to before.  I have heard great things about their milkshakes, so we knew we were going to get one.  We decided on the Peanut Butter Cookie Dough.  It was delicious!  You would never know it was vegan if you weren't told so.  

5.  I was watching the Today show a few weeks ago when they showed a clip of this amazing pep talk from Kid President.  They are videos made by Robby (Kid President) and his brother in law Brad and are all about spreading happiness and being awesome.  I love them!   If you haven't seen them yet go watch them now- they are sure to put a smile on your face and brighten your day.
